T W I L I G H T

I am so thrilled and eager to watch the movie premiere of TWILIGHT. It will be shown two weeks from now, if the schedule will push through. I am currently reading New Moon, the second book of the famous Twilight saga, by Stephenie Meyer and I can not put down the book. After reading Twilight, I said to myself, I have to have more of this. And so my adventure began, my nostalgia never stopped, I was craving for more, I was like one of the characters in the book, a mythical character, like how Bella described the creatures who were drawn to her. I'm like one of the Cullen's teenage children or one of the Quileute tribe teenagers.

The way Stephenie described the vampires was so full of paradox. They are like lost souls finding a place where they would belong and they found it in Forks, they can act as normal human beings there in that small town but this does not happen everytime, the Cullens were also very cautious about not revealing their true identities. So when Bella Swan arrived in Forks they were all hesitant to get near her.
Bella has a keen perception of the things and people around her and since she's new in town she has that fresh scent that the vampires are attracted to, which makes it difficult for them to stay away from her, and which they are trying so hard to do. Bella became friends with the youngest Cullen child, Edward, this is where the story is centered, between the relationship of these two teenagers.

When Edward saved Bella's life he knew he can't ignore his feelings for her anymore (imagine vampires having feelings). Their friendship became so deep that it blossomed into love, everytime they're together they try so hard to understand each others flaws and differences. Eventhough there are a lot of things that they can't seem to accept about each other they still are drawn to one another.

It's a story of love so unique and full of passion. People say, fairy tales do come true, well it sure does in this book and movie (hopefully) , it was so brilliantly done with a tasteful twist. So come and buy the book and don't miss the movie.

The Sound of Music

The classic movie worth watching, worth having a DVD copy of. The whole picture was so awesome, it brought me to tears. The location was very grandiose, Austria is a paradise. I want to go there sometime in the near future. The mountains and the hills were so splendid to look at. Maria was right by saying........" the hills are alive with the sound of music.........................."

I love Julie Andrews. I love her so much. She is so great in everything she does. I adore her. Her voice was so phenomenal, especially in this movie, the songs became timeless because of her, because of her powerful voice.

The scene where the children had a fun picnic with Maria was so hilarious the children saw how different Maria is from their previous governess and started to like and accept her. Maria on the other hand started to care and love the children. Maria has her own naivete and childlikeness inside her that makes her so adorable and lovable. And those were the traits of Maria that made Captain Von Trapp fall head over heels in love with her.

I just can't picture a person who have not seen or heard about this movie. It's impossible to imagine one person who does not know The Sound of Music. This movie is so remarkable, it is a must see movie. For me, it is worth every penny I have when I bought the original DVD of the film. I encourage everyone to buy a copy, with no hesitation, no second thoughts.

FEMME FATALE

Lately I have been engrossed with this channel, I have been watching almost all the shows in it. People say it is the channel for women. And I agree. Almost all the shows are about women, by women and for women. It tackles all issues on women.

One of the shows I have been following is The L word, a show about lesbian women, a groundbreaking show indeed.

Another show is The E True Hollywood Story (THS), a good summary about the lives, showbiz history of famous Hollywood stars, it also summarizes the history of famous television shows, like how a tv show was created, the castings and the behind-the-scenes. It's a very informative show.

There are more shows on this channel................Keeping Up with the Kardashians, Denise Richards: It's Complicated, Wife Swap, Canada's and Britain's Next Top Model, Kid Nation, Tipping the Velvet, Madonna's Concerts, Swingtown, The Soup, The View, Good Morning America, Living Lohan, Queen Bees, So You Think You Can Dance, Don't Forget the Lyrics and some reruns of famous tv shows like Charmed, Will and Grace and Everybody Loves Raymond. And Award shows like The Academy Awards, The Emmy Awards, The Tony Awards, The Miss Universe and a lot more.

I really recommend this channel to everyone, not only women, even men would appreciate this channel. It's complete, all kinds of show that are relevant to our present lives, issues that are true and factual and shows that touches each of us.

A channel worth subscribing for. Never had a dull moment in this channel. It could make you a couch potato but in a very good and positive way, i assure everyone.

TITANIC

At first I thought this movie would be boring, the usual tragic movie, I was wrong. I did not feel so attached and in love and mesmerized in a movie before but this was an exception. After watching Titanic for the first time I can't get enough of it. I didn't feel it was a three hour long picture, I was at the edge of my seat the whole time, especially the scenes where Jack and Rose was running to save their lives and the other people struggling to survive. The ship (Titanic) alone has a life of its own, it has its own character.

A movie for every generation. A movie that broke all records in the box office as the first movie to ever reach the 1 billion mark in ticket sales. It made Leo di Caprio a star and became one of the A-list actors of today. This movie will always have a nice memory for me, I always remember my special someone whenever I watch and think about this movie. We watched it both together, we watched it three times in the theater. It brings back fond memories, happy times with the one I love. I think only few movies can have this kind of effect to people and we should have a lot more movies like Titanic.

a tribute to a great character on tv

CSI Las Vegas has made a big change on its format. A very dramatic start for Season 9 which could have been the most traumatic storyline so far for the show. It will bring all our emotions out, I know it will for me when i will watch it .

It's a shock to know Warrick is dead. He was and will always be an important character on the show. Like what Grissom had said before "Warrick is the heart of the team". Without the heart i don't know what will happen to their team. I have not seen the new season (season 9) yet but just by reading the reviews and seeing an excerpt of Grissom's speech in Warrick's funeral, i know it will be a heart wrenching season for everyone. I just can't picture the degree of pain that Gil, Catherine, Nick, Greg, Sara (Jorja will be back as a guest ) and the others are feeling now. They are a family, they have become one. Warrick even said before that "Gil you're like a father to me". Warrick, you'll sorely be missed by all CSI fans.

Lawrence Fishburne and Lauren Lee Smith will be the new members of the team, i just don't know what will be their roles and characters on the show but I hope they will bring a new and fresh performance. I feel that the show will never be the same without Sara and Warrick. But it is still the show i admire and will forever love. It will always be my number 1 tv show.

For the new people and the existing people on the show more power and good luck to you all. To Catherine, Nick, Greg and the others continue fighting the good fight.

T W I S T E R

I have just seen Twister on HBO last week, i still love the movie. It was a beautifully crafted movie. It's so surreal to look at those twisters, how the camera captured the twisters powerful rage. The director Jan de Bont was so talented, he made the twisters so real and alive, and of course the producer Steven Spielberg what a brilliant and creative man.

Helen Hunt and Bill Paxton were brilliant as the couple who were about to get divorced and at the end went back to each others arms, both of them had a good chemistry together, especially in the scenes where they were chasing the twisters. Michael Crichton a very innovative and inventive writer. I even saw a future Oscar winner in the movie, Phillip Seymour Hoffman, what a great bunch of actors and crew. This movie is really one of a kind. I always love watching it over and over again. More movies like this and i'll go back to being a movie buff.

Comedy at its Best!!!!!

I saw an interview of Carol Burnett and Jim Carrey on the Oprah Winfrey show and it dawned on me how great Carol Burnett is. During the interview Jim Carrey was so intimidated and awestrucked with Carol Burnett, just Carol's presence made Jim so timid, like a school boy. Jim really respected Carol. He said he grew up watching Carol and her famous show The Carol Burnett Show. He said he was 10 years old when he wrote a letter to Carol asking her to be part of her show. Jim said that Carol made a big impact in his life, it was Carol who was instrumental for the success that Jim is enjoying now, it was watching The Carol Burnett show that motivated Jim to be in comedy and to make it his way of life.

After watching the Oprah show I immediately downloaded excerpts or some videos and outtakes from The Carol Burnett Show on youtube, boy did I went in a worm hole and went back to the 1960's and 1970's, figuratively speaking. I was so enthralled at how great the show was, how professional and realistically humorous and funny Carol and her co-stars were in the tv show. I heard about the tv show since I was a child but I have not really watched an episode of The Carol Burnett Show. Actually I wasn't born yet when the show started, I was born during the latter part of the show, maybe it's last four seasons. The show stayed on the air for 11 successful seasons. And it won a lot of Emmy and Golden Globe awards for both Carol and her cast and crew.

Speaking of the other people on the show I enjoyed watching Tim Conway, he was very hysterical, a born comedian and so witty, his antics were so famous that even his co-stars including Carol could not stop but crack up during some of the scenes on the show. He was very good in ad libs, he sometimes went on his own way, diverting away from the script and it made his co-stars lose their composures, especially his co-male actor Harvey Korman who was always Tim's victim in his outtakes. I watched Tim's famous outtake about the Elephant Story, it was so hilarious that while I was watching it in youtube it made me laugh so hard that I laughed my brains out. And Vicki Lawrence was so good too, considering that she's the youngest in the group and a first timer in television. I really admire the group for their dedication, professionalism and hard work. No other shows could topple The Carol Burnett Show, it had set a very high standard and left an indelible mark on the tv industry and its audience, it will forever remain to be the best tv show ever made, it will be on the top of my list. One of the greatest show ever on tv. One of my favorite.

Thank you Carol, your show is truly appreciated, after 30 years since it was last seen on prime time tv, every Saturday night, it is still sought after. It is now on dvd and I'm hoping to be able to get copies of it.

THE EMMY'S

I am so awestrucked with the show. Thousands of stars and so many pretty dresses and suits. Wow. Right now i am watching the replay here in velvet channel. The designer of Teri Hatcher's gown and Debra Messing's gown is Monique Lhuillier who i am so proud to announce is a Filipino. She was acknowledged by both Teri and Debra, it was so nice to hear them say the name of and thanked Monique. These are some little things that makes me proud to be a Filipino.

I see Christina Applegate and she looks stunning considering that she is on the process of dealing with her breast cancer, she was just diagnosed with it. She is a strong woman. You go girl.

30 Rock won a lot of awards, one for Tina Fey for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series and also Alec Baldwin for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series. What a cool show 30 rock is. A new show Mad Men which i haven't seen yet was a big winner too. Of course, Damages was also a show to be reckoned with, Glenn Close was phenomenal. And one of my favorites, House, although Hugh Laurie didn't win still the show was nominated for some awards. Still I am praying for all my favorite shows to win and all my favorite artists to win too.

Another year is finished, another year will begin so to all people involved in the tv industry what a year it had been, goodluck for the coming year, continue to make great shows. And may we, the audience, continue to have exciting experiences and unforgettable experiences in watching our tv shows. :)

Q U I R K I N E S S

1. I brush my teeth for at least 30 mins. my family always goes berserk when they see me brushing my teeth, they know it would take so long.

2. I get annoyed easily, so moody that people close to me says i'm weird. One minute i'm talking to the person, laughing , exchanging stories , the next minute I pretend that the person is not there anymore, as if he/she does not exist. I don't talk or even look at the person, I'm talking bout one and the same person . ( bi-polar)

3. I love the spice girls so much. I love everything they do and everything they have done. I'm a fanatic.

4. You can take away everything from me but never, never, ever take my cable tv away from me. I can't live a day without cable tv.

5. I watch my fave movie or tv shows over and over again, i watch them like a thousand times. I cant get enough of it. I have to watch them a lot, i have to watch them sooooooooo many times.

6. i dunno if u can call this a hobby but i add the numbers written on the plate numbers of cars. Even if i dont wanna count the numbers its like its engraved in me to add the plate numbers in my head. Every car that passes by I automatically add the license plate.

Pope John Paul II We Love You

Technorati Profile

The Pope of the people. He made unbelievable changes in his years as the leader of our church. He was the driving force in uniting different religions to act as one. He met with rabbis, with Muslim leaders, with leaders of different nations. The youth loved him so much. The last time he went here in my country was 1995, we were all ecstatic. i was hooked on the tv, I watched him, I listened to his words and followed his every step. Everywhere he went everyone was following him. Everyone wanted to be blessed by him.

He was the greatest pope of all time. Nothing can surpass his pureness, his strong presence. No one was as pure as him. People who met or touched him says that the pope had this light aura in him. Whenever you're near him you felt a sense of peace inside you, it was like you're in the presence of God or in the presence of goodness. People even cried, just the sight of the pope made them cry. No one could explain the feeling they had and no one could understand that feeling. Even my mom felt that peacefulness the pope had in him, it was 1981 the first visit of Pope John here in the Philippines, my mom and her friend were walking at Luneta Park when the Popemobile passed by, my mom felt goose bumps, she said she felt so light and peaceful, my mom never felt that way before, she said the pope blessed them, the pope blessed the crowd that time. I just hope i was able to feel that peacefulness and purity that the pope brought whenever you're near him.

When he died last 2005 it was like i lost my grandpa. I know the Catholic church will never be the same without Pope John. My church, our church will never be the same. But I still believe that our new pope, Pope Benedict will bring us closer to God. He will also make his mark in our church. To Pope John Paul II, continue blessing us, ur children, we miss you. JOHN PAUL II WE LOVE YOU!!

US open 2008

Wow what a match between the top seeds in both men and women tennis players in the world. Roger Federer (picture above) , the number 2 seed, won his match against the not so well known player from Britain, Andy Murray and Serena Williams beat the Serbian number 2 seed, Jelena Jankovic to win the tournament in both men and women categories respectively. The triumph by Serena Williams in this tournament made her the number 1 seed, the number 1 tennis player in the world. What a sweet accomplishment for both Roger and Serena. Roger needed this win because a lot of people are saying that he is not in his best shape coming in this tournament, he was dethroned from the number 1 spot by Rafael Nadal last month after the olympics but his win here in the US open brought his confidence and strength back.

It was so moving to watch the different matches of the tournament. All of the matches were so breath taking and exhilarating that i was always on the edge of my seat while watching it. For me the best match of the tournament I have to say, was the semi-final match of the Williams sisters. I was so routing for Venus to win but I think the younger Serena is more toned physically and mentally, still it was a match for the record books. The match was talked about everywhere, even the hosts of the famous talk show The View can't help but applaud the sisters for their determination and dedication to the game.

I hope that a lot of our young people now will follow in the foot steps of these great athletes. I know there will be only one Serena, only one Federer but there will always be someone to succeed them, it's a very big shoe to fill in so it will be difficult to find someone near their calibre. So for the next generation of top seeded players good luck and best wishes.

PHELPS MAGIC

Well it is said that he is the greatest olympian of the modern era. What he accomplished in Beijing last August was and is really remarkable. He made his dreams into reality and only a few people can do that. He set his goals so high that a lot of people doubted him. Michael Phelps is someone special. He has purity, innocence and naivete in him. Eight golds in one olympic game, can anyone top that? Maybe after 50 years, a new athlete can beat his record. Well, Phelps did it after 36 years, he beat Mark Spitz's record and remove him in the books.

I know it is not an impossible feat to conquer but whoever will be tasked to beat Phelps' record will really have difficulty and will really have to be extremely great on his or her sport for him or her to be at par with Phelps' accomplishments.

Every country now, especially the first world countries are looking for their own Phelps. Extensively training a new breed of young athletes to bring home more golds in their home countries. I am only hoping that this new breed of athletes will be good role models for the youth, not just to excel in their fields of sport but to be important contributors financially, emotionally and spiritually to the society. Let us all spread the Phelps Magic. Whoever has the wand please start spreading.

PALIN POWER

She currently is the most talked about woman, most adorned woman in America. The governor of Alaska, a mere unknown in the political arena. But just after two weeks in the public eye she changed the history of American politics. She was and still is the good luck charm of the Republican party presidential candidate, McCain. Ever since McCain chose her to be his running mate or his vice-presidential candidate for this coming election all eyes and ears were on the Republican party. Everyone wants to know who Palin is, everyone was curious about her background or just simply curious about her, what's her family background, her political contributions, her stand on some controversial issues. Everyone has their eyes and ears on her. Everyone can't seem to get enough of her.

Her speech during the Republican party convention was one of the most famous speeches, one of the most controversial speeches ever , in American politics. American women, and every woman in the world felt that we found a voice in her. We, as women felt that Palin could really make a change for us, she could really make a difference in this world we live in. I just hope that the American people will wisely choose their new leaders this coming November. It is and will always be the most crucial, the most talked about election in the world. May the best man or best woman wins.

amazing race asia

It is really the toughest game ever. I have been following the show since it started. It is not a game for the faint-hearted. It is a game for the most adventurous, physically, mentally and emotionally fit people. Thousands have been auditioning for this game and only the toughest, the strongest , and the wittiest have been chosen.

The show started in the states with the Amazing Race but the producers decided to extend the show in Asia, this made me proud because we as Asians were given the chance to show the world our strengths and our competitiveness and so Amazing Race Asia was born. I was specifically happy and proud of the Filipino teams, especially last season's ( Season 2) Marc Nelson and Rovilson Fernandez. They really made us, Filipinos proud because they really excelled in the race, even though they didn't win, they ended up in third place actually, but still they were the team to beat, they were ahead of the pact the whole duration of the game, it was in the last and most crucial task that they were unfortunately outwitted by the other team from Singapore. Last season's game was really a thrill-seeking, hair raising competition anybody could have ever watched.

This coming Thursday, on AXN channel 24 at 9:00 in the evening, a new season of the Amazing Race Asia (Season 3) will begin and for sure another heart wrenching, ground breaking competition awaits us. Me, on the other hand, will be following each episode of the show, and will be cheering for the new Filipino team in the race, Geoff and Tisha. Good luck Team Philippines, as always, make us proud. Bring home the bacon. :)

9-11

The tragic event that touched the world. Everybody, everyone was shocked and could not believe that such a thing could actually happen in real life, let alone to the most strong, most rich, most dynamic nation, US of A. The American people changed their views on life after this tragedy, they realized that they are vulnerable, that they are not invincible. This gave them the lesson in life that they'll never forget, which is that they are humans after all, for me this is a good realization for the Americans. It is just sad that this event has to happen for them to realize that they are not always on top and that they are not always powerful.

I can not forget the night of Sept.11, 2001 (well, it was nighttime here when 9-11 occurred), i was watching our local evening news here (The World Tonight), when the anchor woman cut short her report and said " Breaking News................a plane had hit one of the twin towers of the World Trade Center in New York............" after hearing that i immediately changed the channel to CNN, and there i saw the vision which i won't forget as long as i live. The two towers were already on fire, people were crying, running everywhere, reporters while on the middle of their coverage felt shocked and dismayed on what just happened. No one knows what to do, no one knows if they were safe or if their country was being attacked. Tension and confusion was everywhere. It was like watching a movie, i felt that this could not be happening, i am just watching a movie, this is just a dream, i said to myself over and over again. But its not.....................

This coming Thursday it will be the 7th anniversary of that tragic event, even though the American people have been slowly recovering, still the hurt is there. It's sad to relive this moment but it is carved in our hearts and minds already. The whole world was affected by this event, it is part of not just the American history but it is now part of World History. This is my short tribute to the people who lost their lives during this horrific occurrence and to their families who up to now i know still are grieving for their loss. All of us will continue to fight these terroristic acts, all of us should fight hand in hand.

Obama and the Filipino's American Dream

He is the man of the hour. I just got a copy of TIME magazine today and he is on the cover. A lot has been said about this man. He made history when he won the vote as the presidential candidate of the Democratic party against Hillary Clinton. If he wins this November we all know that Obama will be the first African-American to lead the most powerful nation in the world and that is a big step.

Even though my country is in another continent, and I am from another continent still Obama's candidacy and this coming election will greatly affect the economic status and stability of my own country. We have been having good ties with the US for so many years.

I know that we Filipinos always have that crab mentality inside us that is why we are so dependent on the Americans. We always aspire for that American Dream. It is so sad but it is true, all of us want to leave our own country, we cannot blame our countrymen if they are searching for a more secure and stable life, which they think they will find in America. A lot of them have succeeded but a lot of them have failed too. I believe that luck is still a big factor plus hardwork, of course.

I don't wanna sound too patriotic but isn't it our duty to help our own country first? It is easier said than done, right? Life here in the Philippines is so difficult, poverty continues to rise, prices of basic commodities skyrockets all the time, 90% of Filipinos live in hunger. Only a big miracle, a very big miracle can make a change, a positive change for us. And what miracle would that be? we don't know, no one knows. All we have is our faith and our hope, no one can take that away from us.

the L word

THE CAST from left to right, top to bottom: mia kirschner, eric mabius, laurel holloman, karina lombard, pam grier, erin daniels(my fave character:)). below or sitting: katherine moennig, jennifer beals and leisha hailey.

i first learned about this tv show last January. i accidentally bought a dvd of the show, i was just browsing through a lot of dvds and came upon this disc. as i read the summary at the back cover of the disc i got kinda curious because its about women, lesbian women. as i started watching the show i got hooked on it, i was mesmerized by the depth of the story. its not your typical, sad, tragic lesbian shows. and in fact it is the first and only lesbian tv show that was given a slot on primetime tv in the states. the show was a phenomenon in the US and it is up to now the most watched tv show in the US. the concept of the show is that, there 's a group of lesbian women who are close friends with each other, they are living in Hollywood California, this group of women is so unique and diverse in their characters that each one of them has been given a good script and a good storyline . the show is focused on the lives, the love, the friendship, the struggles of these women.

i thank the creator Ilene Chaiken for making this masterpiece, it is a show where gays and lesbians are not discriminated, they are given equal opportunities like straight people. this show now has a devoted fanbase in the states and it is starting to be heard around the world, in Europe and Asia. in fact, it is being shown in our own cable tv here in the Philippines, it is on velvet channel, every thursday night at 9.30.

i dare each of you to try to watch the show, or buy a dvd copy of the show. by the way, the show is in production of and filming (as of press time) its final season. its home network or mother network in the states, SHOWTIME decided to extend the show for one more season (season 6). mind you, all the shows of this network did not reach season 6, but the network producers had decided to extend the L word because of the impact it created and the voice it gave to gays and lesbians (well, lesbians in particular), who finally found themselves being given the rights that they deserve. now that there is a new law in California that already allows gay and lesbian marriages, its a very big step. it only shows that people are more open minded, more accepting and liberated.

for me, i will continue to watch the show until its last episode. season 6 of the L word will be shown January 2009 in the states and i will surely wait for the original dvd copy of it or if not i will download it in mininova.:) i just hope velvet channel will continue to air the show. the L word rulezzzzzzzzzzzz!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

spice girls: girl power

Spice-Girls-v02.jpg

the only girl group/band that made a huge impact in the world. everyone was craving for them, everyone loved them. i, for one, was a very big fan of the group. i bought all of their posters and magazines no matter how expensive they were. no other group had achieved what they had achieved. i wrote a letter to the girls way back 1998, i really did, it was just a fan mail. my friends might be laughing at me right now but i don't care. and guess what, i received an autographed picture of the girls, i was so ecstatic, i was so happy. i kept the picture in my drawer, i still have it now. i am and i will forever be proud that i like and love the spice girls. even though my cousins and sister used to tease me about it, i didn't change. my admiration for the girls didn't change. i will forever be their numero uno fan. i would really love to meet them. i am praying for that to happen, anything is possible. right ............:)?

it was so surreal that they reunited last year (2007- until early this year 2008), it was a joyous moment for all their fans. i always checked their site to know where they are going, their concert schedules and stuff. i was a little sad because they have no schedule here to do a show in my country, but its ok. it was enough for me to know that they are back together. i have youtube to help me with the updates of their shows and to get a glimpse of the girls. :)

thank you SPICE GIRLS for the Girl Power genre you have created. you inspired a lot of women to be strong and to be able to fight for our rights. you truly are five precious gems.

CSI: LAS VEGAS

this is my show. my tv show. i have been a fan since it started or since i first saw it last 2000. i saw how the show progressed and developed into a sensitive, intriguing, intellectual, award winning show it is today. the casts were incredible, lovable and so dedicated with their craft. it's sad that jorja fox left the show (she's my fave character in the show->sara sidle). but don't worry jorja fans out there, i read in a news that she'll be back this season 9, just a recurring role, nothing permanent yet.

the last episode of season 8 was very heart wrenching, we saw warrick being shot inside his car. it will be very sad to see if one of the characters will die. they each have their own traumatic experiences, like the time when nick was kidnapped, or the time when catherine's father (sam) was shot in front of her and died in her arms, or the non-ending search for sara after she was kidnapped and almost left to die in the middle of the desert by the miniature killer.

i can't say more. what other show can surpass this? none, right.....???!!!!! so hoping that this show will last long. i hope it will reach until their 100th season.:) it is kinda far fetched but we can never tell.:) this show could be a history in the making, i think it is already making history. for all csi fans out there continue watching the show. lets give them our unending support. are you with me?????????????????????

MY DAD

an extraordinary movie

DESERT HEARTS....................
i was watching an interview of Ilene Chaiken (creator of the L word) in youtube when she mentioned a movie, Desert Hearts. i was curious bout it so i downloaded the movie and i have been watching it over and over again for the past two months. the story of the movie was so moving, it showed how the two characters ( Vivian and Cay) portrayed by (Helen Shaver and Patricia Charbonneau) developed their friendship into love. how they realized that they really need each other. it was a difficult relationship to start with but as the two women became close to each other they knew that there's no turning back. the movie was and still is critically acclaimed, there were a lot of positive reviews bout the movie.

on a personal note, i was overwhelmed by the movie. it was an eye opener for me. i was able to understand myself better and accept who i really am. i thank Donna Deitch for sacrificing a lot of things in her life so as to produce and create this heartwarming masterpiece. Thank you Helen and Patricia for taking a risk in making this movie.

i'm inviting everyone to have a copy of this movie. for its 20th year anniversary since it was first shown in the big screen, the producer re-released a dvd copy of Desert Hearts last year (2007) with never-before-seen footages.
